Hi, I have been looking for a font called Carlisle for the last 2 hours but I can't find it. I used it on my Ukdirt F1, but since reformatting I haven't been able to find it since. Could anyone point me in the direction of where I could get it from? I have found a few other fonts called Carisle but not the one I'm after so I've included a pic of my F1 so you know what it looks like. Its the font I used for the '136' on my aerofoil. Thanks, Kruiz EDIT: I've just realised I also used the same font, 'Carlisle' for the 'Kerplunk' sign on my sidepod.

Correct, nerfing and hitting the rear wheels, in real life also leads to a greater increased chance of spinning out on contact (just asked my dad ), so the game is actually more realistic than it seems. Thanks for the words of wisdom Wrighty Appreciated as always m8.

On the subject of throttle control, until I can get a steering wheel and a decent desk to put it on, I have changed the settings on PS2 control to steer with the left analog stick, acclerate with the right analog stick even though I'm not used to it, and brake with L2, so it is possible to brake & acclerate at the same time, and I find that easier than using the right analog stick to brake aswell. I have tweaked my setups a bit more today and I actually did about 10 fairly fast laps at sexy without spinning out lol.

ATM I'm using a PS2 control, so looks like I'll have to invest in a new Graphics card, steering wheel, anything else for my xmas list? Seriously though, I will try it a bit more this weekend, I've only done about 2 hours worth so far and practise on Ipswich shle as i can't get it to slide around the corners there at all. At Sexbierum its as bad. I know the swingman view can be adjusted, but like it has been said before becomes annoying having to adjust it before each race although, if that is default then there is nothing that can be done I suppose. I have been using an analog stick for the acclerator but I find it easier using the X button on the PS2, but probably just because I'm not used to using the analog for acclerating in any other games. Thanks for the replys lads, Kruiz

I agree with what most people have said so far, my opinions are... 1) I too think that the F1's feel like they glide rather than slide, it doesn't seem to possible to floor it and slide at the same time as it is in real life, unless its just my setup. 2) The cars aern't that difficult to drive on tarmac, I'm sure, you rarely even see novices with less than perfect setups, contantly pushing into corners and spinning out half way round the corner then fighting to keep it in a relatively straight line down the straights. 3) The swingman view is too far away for me, it is the view I always use in every game online but I find it difficult to get on with in rF. 4) The model them selves look fantastic, I wouldn't change that at all. 5) I also like the idea of customisation which should add a little more variety to the field, just one thing though, could you add the option of superstar flashing lights to distinguish them from red tops, as in real life? 6) On the point of it spins out to easy when you push someone into the corner on shale, I can tell you from my dad (who raced F1 for 25 years) thinks that is spot on. It does handle like that if you push someone, especially while sliding. Overall I do like it very much, this is are just constructive criticism, keep up the good work everyone., and if you want any more opinions from a driver (or an ex-driver anyway) then I'll ask my dad to have a go and see what he thinks. Thanks Kruiz

CPU is fine, 1gb of ram is good, graphics card is from the stone age. Get a new one and it will feel like a different game. ATI 1600, 1650, 1900, 1950 will do wonders for you. Not that exp (at least not in the states) and will give you good performance. When I first started running RF, I have a P4 3.0, 1gb ram, and a ATI 9800 Pro 256mb, and worked fine. Couldnt jack the graphics up, but it worked. Now, well my comp is a different story, C2D 6800 Extreme, 4gb ddr2, ATI 1950 Crossfire. Thanks m8, I thought it might be the graphics card I'll start saving up. Cheers Kruiz

As I say this is just offline play, I've not had time to have a go online yet. My PC specs are.. although I'm sure its not very minimal for playing rfactor Dell DIMENSION DIM4700 IntelĀ® PentiumĀ® 4 CPU 2.80GHz 2.79 GHz, 1.00GB of RAM Graphics card: RADEON X300 Series I've already been told that the graphics card isn't good enough, but there doesn't seem to be any problem other than car madly flying about when spun through 180 degrees and cars not moving when hit which doesn't look like a graphics problem although I wouldn't really know anyway, and occasional lag but I get that even with Nascar Heat. Any help much appreciated as always. Kruiz

I will see if I can get some time to have a blast too Wrighty, I've not raced online yet but I also need to find out if my PC specs are up to it so it will be a bit of test run for me.
-
Yep, Dazza has explained what I'm experiencing with rFactor better than me, that is indeed what happens on my game and is the only problem I've come across in the game, I hope it can be solved as it spoils offline play.
-
I like them a lot, well done. Can't wait to see the F1.

I think its the graphics card hutch, I've been told I need a better one to run rFactor, but all seems fine apart from the contact, I just can't afford one yet. I thought the graphics card might be the case, just thought it was worth asking before concluding I definately need a new one. Thanks for the help lads, best start saving up the pennys lol. Kruiz

I've only so far played offline and everything seems superb except for when I hit an AI car they either dont move and I go flying or they act very strangley and 'warp' about, (this is offline still, its not warp but thats what it looks like). Is it the same online?, I'm only asking this as it may be something that needs adressing as its started to annoy me offline and the geniusess making it are looking for feedback etc. Thanks Kruiz

A bit late I know, but I'm in too. -
there is plenty of skins with diff colour or roofs to choose from mate Aye, I've just had quick look, it seems 112 is the only novice car with a yellow roof so I will use that if I can get to grips with the F1's in time.

At the moment, I am yet to do a Lap with spinning out, so I'm not booking just yet, the problem I have is, I was on holiday when the pack was made, so I don't have a skin. Is there a novice car I can use if I want to race? Thanks Kruiz

Im up for it again

When you have installed the essentials, from where jimmy says, do about 5 laps in a nascar first, then try running the ukdirt mods, this helped me in the past. It will make no difference whether you have the full game or not. All that does is add the extra files needed to run nascar heat etc. it doesnt make any difference to the running of ukdirts mods. Hope that helps, Kruiz
